Appointment of new CEO for Banque Degroof Petercam Luxembourg and of group COO

Brussels/Luxembourg, July 6th, 2022 – Degroof Petercam appoints Gautier Bataille as the new CEO of Banque Degroof Petercam Luxembourg and Filip Depaz as group Chief Operating Officer (COO).

Evolution of the governance in Luxembourg

Gautier Bataille is appointed CEO of Banque Degroof Petercam Luxembourg. As of August 1, 2022, he will succeed to Bruno Houdmont who, by mutual agreement, will step down from his current role to pursue new opportunities outside the group.

Present locally since 1987, the Luxembourg bank of the group employs almost 400 people and continues to demonstrate the strength of its integrated model and the complementarity of its business lines in the group’s value proposition. Its deployment as a European hub serving international residents outside of Luxembourg, in addition to its positioning in the Luxembourg market, also shows its strategic importance for the group.

Gautier Bataille has an extensive career path within the group in various managing positions. He is currently an executive member of the board of directors of Degroof Petercam and Group Head of Business Development. He is also a member of the board of directors of Banque Degroof Petercam Luxembourg. With his experience and expertise across different domains, Gautier Bataille is ideally positioned to take over from Bruno Houdmont and lead the bank and its business in Luxembourg in the next stage of its development.

The appointment of Gautier Bataille as member of the authorized management ('direction autorisée') of Banque Degroof Petercam Luxembourg is subject to local regulatory approval.

Group Chief Operating Officer

Filip Depaz is appointed as group COO. Mr. Depaz will join the executive committee and report to the CEO, Hugo Lasat. Upon approval of the regulators, he will join the management board and the board of directors of Degroof Petercam. He will oversee cross-functional activities including business and market operations, data strategy & steering, transformation office, internal control steering and corporate banking services.

Filip Depaz brings more than 20 years of experience in transformation management and operational performance optimization. He was finance transformation program manager at Athora Group, a life insurance company active in the European markets. He was previously active as chief operating officer and member of the executive committee of Immobel. From 1999 to 2019, he developed his career at Delta Loyd Life Belgium where he held positions of COO, CEO, member of the executive committee and of the board. After the take-over of Delta Lloyd Group by NN Insurance, he led the integration as chief operating officer and board member of NN Insurance Belgium. He was also active at Axa and Citibank.
