Extel Awards: Degroof Petercam acclaimed best fund manager in Belgium

Degroof Petercam is pleased to announce that it has been acclaimed ‘best fund manager’ in Belgium by the Extel Awards.

The Brussels-based fund manager has obtained 60.5% of the votes cast by 31 firms and 141 Belgian professionals.

Hugo Lasat and Jan Longeval, the co-CEO's of the institutional asset management activity, comment: “First of all, we are proud that the industry has acknowledged our research and asset management capabilities. No fewer than 4 out of 5 best-ranked analysts/managers work for our company. We are convinced that this success is the result of the combination of passion, expertise and long-term thinking enabled by our independence.

With our in-house teams of 17 buy-side equity analysts and credit analysts and 3 macro analysts, we have one of the largest in-house research teams among Brussels-based asset managers. Thanks to the joint efforts of our experienced research analysts, portfolio and fund managers, our clients are benefiting from sustainable added value in these volatile markets which are too often dominated by short-termism. ”
