Hans Bevers appointed Chief economist of Bank Degroof Petercam

Hans Bevers has been appointed Chief economist of Bank Degroof Petercam. In this function, he will be responsible for the development of the overall macroeconomic scenario as well as for the analysis of economic themes. In his new role, he will report to Bruno Colmant, Head of Macro research and member of the group management committee.
Hans Bevers (1982) has a degree in applied economics and a master in economics (University of Antwerp). He joined Petercam in 2011 as senior economist where he contributed to the development of the global macroeconomic scenario, and was responsible for the economic analysis of emerging markets. Previously, he worked as an economist at VOKA and KBC.
Bank Degroof Petercam has also appointed Thomas van Rompuy, currently Director Strategy and Communications at Febelfin, as Senior executive advisor. Van Rompuy will handle media relations and PR within the Corporate communication department and put his expertise at the disposal of the Macro research department. He will report to Alexandra Niehe, Head of Corporate communication, and to Bruno Colmant. Thomas van Rompuy (1986) holds a Master in Economics and a Master in Political Science (KU Leuven). He previously worked for communication consulting firm Akkanto and for Federal Public Service Economy.
