L’Burn, new laureate of the Degroof Petercam Foundation Award for innovative burnout approach

Brussels, 26 February 2025 – L'Burn has won the seventh edition of the Degroof Petercam Foundation Award ('DPF Award'). L’Burn is a French non-profit organization that aims to provide support and guidance to people experiencing burnout with a view to their social and professional reintegration. The prize includes a donation of one million euros, spread over five years, as well as access to the expertise and network of the Degroof Petercam Foundation. In addition to L'Burn association, the Foundation also rewards the three other finalists of the DPF Award by granting each a donation of 50,000 euros: The Tipping Point (Greece), Mozaïk Groupe (France), and Vollpension (Austria).

Innovative solution for sustainable employment

The DPF Award, the flagship program of the Degroof Petercam Foundation, selects and funds an ambitious systemic social project each year, demonstrating the potential to transform the employment model in Europe. After a rigorous and methodical selection process, an independent jury composed of representatives from the academic world, social entrepreneurship, philanthropy and business, voted for the winner from among four finalists. The winner is thus awarded a donation of one million euros and a personalized follow-up support spread over five years.

Support and accompaniment for people experiencing burnout

The trend of burnout in companies continues to rise in Belgium. According to a report by the Institut national d'assurance maladie-invalidité (INAMI) published in 2024, the number of incapacity for work due to burnout or depression rose by 43% between 2017 and 2022. Women account for more than two-thirds of cases. Burnout remains under-prioritized and often remains a taboo subject.

L'Burn is the first French association that helps women who suffer, or have suffered from burnout, by offering a multidisciplinary and holistic approach, combining peer support and burnout professionals. L'Burn offers a comprehensive program including individual support, workshops and in-company training to prevent relapses and destigmatize burnout. The program ends with a return to work and immersion in companies trained in the prevention and inclusion of burnout. L'Burn also conducts research in prevention and care.

Anne-Sophie Vives - Founder of L'Burn: "Receiving the DPF Award is a huge recognition for L'Burn. With this support, we will be able to structure our franchise model, which is a real turning point for our organization. We will also benefit from increased visibility by leveraging the Foundation's network and Degroof Petercam. Via this award, we also aim to explore the implementation of our initiative in Belgium. Together, we have the power to transform the lives of many women and promote a more inclusive and sustainable society.

Anne-Sophie Pype – Managing Director of the Degroof Petercam Foundation: " We are pleased to be able to support L'Burn in its support for people in a burnout situation and to contribute to their socio-professional integration. Their innovative approach and commitment are perfectly in line with the Foundation's mission to promote sustainable employment and social inclusion. "

By winning this award, L'Burn adds its name to the list of previous DPF Award winners: Réseau Etre (2024), Chemins d'avenirs (2023), Activ'Action (2022), Ticket for Change (2021), Bayes Impact (2020), and DUO for a JOB (2019).
